UNC football announces start time for Week 4 matchup

For at least one week, the UNC football team alleviated its hungry fanbase of concerns about winning games this fall, thanks to a closer-than-expected 20-3 victory over Charlotte (0-2) on Saturday night.

North Carolina (1-1) struck early, thanks to a 51-yard bomb from Gio Lopez to Chris Culliver, then the offense largely stalled. The Tar Heels' defense did a complete 180 from Week 1, holding the host 49ers to under 300 yards and just three points.

UNC returns home to Chapel Hill this coming Saturday, hosting the Richmond Spiders at 3:30 p.m., then heads to UCF on September 20.

We now know the start time for North Carolina's first-ever clash with the Knights. On Monday afternoon, the Tar Heels announced they'll be clashing with UCF at 3:30 p.m. – and playing on FOX Sports.

The Knights (2-0) are off for Week 3. UCF previously beat Jacksonville State in its season-opener, 17-10, then obliterated North Carolina A&T by a 68-7 mark on Saturday.

Had UNC beat TCU in its own season-opener, I bet this recently-announced contest would be a night game. Alas, the Tar Heels and Knights will play under the hot Florida sun, which could prove an advantage for the home squad.

North Carolina's focus is on Richmond (1-1), an FCS Patriot League program that split its first two games, losing to ranked Lehigh and squeaking by Wofford. The Spiders will likely start hot, as what I witness occur plenty when FBS and FCS teams clash, but my hope is the Tar Heels are doing fooling around by the second quarter.
