Tennessee Titans claim G Atonio Mafi, work out 7 defenders

After the news broke that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Tennessee Titans were postponing Chris Johnson’s induction into the Titans’ Ring of Honor, the league released its waiver results, and the Titans landed a new offensive lineman.

The Titans were awarded former Las Vegas Raiders guard Atonio Mafi and waived guard Garrett Dellinger in a corresponding move.

Mafi entered the league as a fifth-round pick of the New England Patriots in the 2023 NFL Draft. After failing to carve out a long-term role with the Patriots, he bounced from the Indianapolis Colts to the Raiders, where he saw action in three games in 2025. In all, Mafi has played in 23 games, making seven starts.

Per the transaction wire, Tennessee also worked out seven defenders on Friday, including Dominic Bailey and J.R. Singleton, which Titans Wire covered earlier. The other five players were linebackers Jimmy Ciarlo, Nick Jackson, Emany Johnson, and T.J. Quinn, and defensive tackle Zion Wilson.

The Titans will be back at Vanderbilt Health Football Center for a walkthrough on Saturday before taking on the New York Jets in Week 1 action at Nissan Stadium.
