Sean McVay shares ideal injury update ahead of Rams vs. Texans on Sunday

Barring an unexpected change in the coming days, there won’t be a single injury concern for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. They’re going to be at full strength against the Houston Texans, having “all hands on deck” for the season opener, Sean McVay said Friday.

That includes Ahkello Witherspoon, who was listed as a non-participant in practice on Thursday due to a knee injury. McVay told reporters that Witherspoon is expected to play against Houston and the team was simply being cautious with him before the game.

Matthew Stafford will also get the start at quarterback and Alaric Jackson will be the Rams’ starting left tackle, which is great news for the entire offense.

McVay did note that Jackson and Rob Havenstein will be listed on Friday's injury report but there's no concern about their availability. The Rams are going to be smart with them on Fridays each week, lightening their workload throughout the season.

Stafford and Jackson were the two biggest health concerns for the Rams all summer, raising questions about whether either player would be able to play in Week 1. To have both available is an ideal situation for the Rams, putting them at full strength against a banged-up Texans team.
