Richard Hughes means business as Liverpool FINALISE two transfer decisions
Richard Hughes isn’t messing about this summer as Liverpool’s sporting director reportedly finalises two decisions ahead of the transfer window. The Reds are making moves.
Liverpool didn’t really do much in Richard Hughes’ first season in charge at Liverpool. The Reds were remarkably quiet in the transfer window, in fact, even if that was largely down to Martin Zubimendi rejecting them at the death.
But the only major arrival was Federico Chiesa from Juventus. That was simply an opportunistic transfer, though - Liverpool saw him as a wildly undervalued player and jumped on it.
Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed from Valencia but only to loan him straight back there. He’ll now arrive this summer and he won’t be the only one.
In fact, the transfer window isn’t even open yet and it appears Hughes and co. have made some massive decisions on two players.
Liverpool know who they want
There’s now absolutely no question that Liverpool want Jeremie Frimpong to be their new right-back. The Dutchman has undergone a medical with the Reds after Bayer Leverkusen’s final game of the season the season and the deal now seems to be a formality.
And what a decision that is! Liverpool have wasted no time at all sorting the Trent Alexander-Arnold problem, moving for one of the most impressive full-backs in Europe.
