The Tennessee Titans made a huge splash on Monday when they parted ways with head coach Brian Callahan six games into the 2025 season.
There is no doubt that Callahan struggled during his time in Tennessee, and the front office determined that his 4-19 career record was just not good enough. The Titans lacked growth, and there were no signs that improvement was on the horizon.
After turning the page on Callahan, the organization tapped veteran Mike McCoy to lead the team on an interim basis, but that may not be the only significant move on the horizon. NFL Insider Diana Russini reports that the Titans are "open for business" on all but two players.
The Titans are open for business on every player but QB Cam Ward and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. They are looking to stockpile future picks.
The Titans are open for business, and the team could look totally different in the coming weeks, except for Cam Ward and Jeffery Simmons, players who are said to be untouchable. While there are likely a few more players that are safe and are solid foundational pieces, being open to discussions on them could net a larger haul of draft capital that could help speed up the rebuild.
General manager Mike Borgonzi already proved in 2025 that the depth chart means little when it comes to trade talks, trading away starting cornerback Jarvis Brownlee earlier in the season to the New York Jets, which should make for some interesting times ahead.
Unfortunately, injuries could impact potential moves for the Titans over the next couple of weeks, with veterans Calvin Ridley, Arden Key, and Dre’Mont Jones all battling issues that could keep them out of action in the games leading into the trade deadline.
This will be something to monitor over the next few weeks, so stay tuned to Titans Wire for any and all updates.
