Eau Gallie advanced to the Region 2-4A final after picking up a shutout win over Tavares in the semifinals.
The Commodores never trailed in the game and scored early after Jordan Stout drove in the first run of the night in the opening inning. Eau Gallie scored two more runs in the inning to build an early 3-0 lead.
In the third inning, an RBI from Gabriella Barrera extended the Commodores' lead and the team would go on to score one run in the fourth inning and four runs in the fifth inning to end the game. Barrera finished the night with two RBIs, three hits, and one run.
Evie Martin added three hits, two runs and one RBI in the win, Leah Pechart had two runs and one RBI, and Hannah Leech had two hits to go along with an RBI and one run for the Commodores. Stout picked up the win on the mound allowing just one hit and finishing with four strikeouts in five innings.
Eau Gallie will host Lake Wales in the regional final on Thursday, May 15.
Region 2-2A semifinals: Trinity Catholic 2, MCC 0
In Class 2A, MCC fell to Trinity Catholic on the road in the regional semifinals. The Hustlers end their season with a record of 20-4 and as District 8-2A champions.
