MSU basketball listed as finalist for 5-star prospect

Michigan State basketball is a finalist for a five-star prospect in the 2026 class.

Maximo Adams of Chatsworth, Calif. is down to four schools, and Michigan State is one of them. On3 recruiting insider Joe Tipton reported on Monday that Adams has cut his schools in consideration to four, which includes Michigan State, North Carolina, Kentucky and Texas.

Adams is a five-star small forward prospect in the 2026 class. He holds a recruiting rating of 99.10 in 247Sports' composite system, and is ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in the class. He is also listed as the No. 10 small forward prospect in the class.

Adams has taken official visits to all four of his finalists and appears to be nearing a decision soon. He was originally supposed to visit Duke this month, but has cancelled that visit -- which makes sense with his now released finalists list. We will need to continue to monitor Adams' recruitment and see if the Spartans can add this massive prospect to its already very solid class.
