Mid-East/Meadville's state tournament run comes to an end

WILLIAMSPORT — The Mid-East/Meadville Junior League team fell to Upper Moreland 6-3 on Friday to end its state tournament campaign at 0-2.

Upper Moreland led 6-1 after six and a half innings. Mid-East/Meadville scored twice in the bottom of the sixth, but the rally stopped there.

Ty Neely had two hits for Mid-East/Meadville. Isaac Beebe and Leo Nagel each added one hit.

Nagel and Liam Hochstetler got on base in the sixth to lead off. Neely’s RBI single to left field scored Hochstetler and Nagel scored on a passed ball.

In the first inning, Neely scored on an Upper Moreland fielding error.

Santino Trenga went five innings on the mound with three strikeouts and three earned runs.
