Michigan football to wear 'big game blues' with maize accessories for Wisconsin homecoming

Since 2021, Michigan football started tinkering with different jersey combinations at home. Though the road uniform has changed a few times (from maize pants to white pants), and there have been some random games with alternate jerseys (2011 Notre Dame and Michigan State; 2017 neutral site game against Florida), the home uniform has tended to stay pretty much the same until 2021. That's when the introduction of the 'big game blues' happened.

It started against Washington in Week 2 and culminated in the win over Ohio State in the final regular game of the season. And on Saturday, the Wolverines will have their 'big game blues' premiere of the 2025 season in the homecoming game against Wisconsin. Additionally, the maize and blue will have some maize as the accessories will be that color on Saturday.

The Wolverines are 11-1 at home wearing the blue pants at home. The last game where the maize and blue neglected the maize came at Nebraska in Week 4, when Michigan wore the white tops and the blue pants. The team wore blue pants at home twice last year: in the loss to Texas in Week 2 and two weeks later in the win over USC.
