Liverpool confirm signing of top teenage defensive talent
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Parma centre-back Giovanni Leoni.
The Italy youth international makes the move to Merseyside in a deal worth an initial £26 million with add-ons.
He came through the youth ranks at Serie B side Padova and spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Sampdoria, before that move was made permanent at the end of the campaign.
Parma swooped in and signed the teenager that same summer, and he went on to make 17 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Leoni becomes Arne Slot's seventh signing of the summer window, following the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike through the door.
