Indianapolis Colts players on Irsay-Gordon, Jackson, Foyt leading organization

Carlie Irsay-Gordon is expected to take control of the Indianapolis Colts' football operations after the passing of Jim Irsay.
Irsay-Gordon will share ownership of the Colts with her two sisters, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson. Irsay-Gordon, however, will primarily take charge of the football side of the operations, according to the Indy Star's Joel Erickson.
Following Wednesday's OTA practice, Shane Steichen and several Colts players voiced their confidence in Irsay-Gordon, Foyt, and Jackson to lead the organization moving forward.
"I think that their willingness to be here," Michael Pittman said via Horseshoe Huddle. "Carlie, Kalen, especially those two, they're in here daily, they're talking to players, having one-on-ones, asking us what we think that we need, and that's just something that you don't really see. You don't really see owners coming to players directly, asking, 'Hey, how can I help you?' And I feel that's what makes them different."
Irsay-Gordon was named the team vice president in 2008 and has been heavily involved in the Colts' football operations. Erickson noted that Irsay-Gordon has worked closely with general managers Ryan Grigson and Chris Ballard, along with members of the coaching staff.
"The biggest thing is, as far as football, she's (Carlie) around and she understands it," Steichen said. "When you talk football with her, she gets it. She understands it. She goes over the defensive stuff, the offensive stuff. She's been involved since I've been here from Day One, very hands-on, and she's been tremendous. I think she's going to do a phenomenal job."
You'll often see Irsay-Gordon on the sidelines during games with a headset so she can hear the coaching staff calling plays and also in meetings throughout the week.
"She's (Irsay-Gordon) always got her big notebook, taking notes, and obviously always asking questions about the game and little things like that, and just trying to continue to grow and learn and study the game," Buckner said. "And it's been pretty cool to see over the years. Obviously now it's goinna be her time to step up and take the lead, and we all have great confidence in her."
Jackson joined the Colts in 2010 as vice president and has been involved in the team's philanthropic efforts, according to the team site. Foyt joined the Colts in 2007 and has been heavily involved on marketing and community relations.
