How far did Iowa State football climb in US LBM Coaches Poll?

Matt Campbell and Iowa State football are ranked No. 12 in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll, which was released Sept. 28. The Cyclones were previously ranked 13th.

Iowa State improved to 5-0 on the season with a decisive 39-14 victory over Arizona at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames.

Quarterback Rocco Becht threw for 243 yards and rushed for three touchdowns. Becht connected with East Carolina transfer Chase Sowell on multiple occasions, hauling in four receptions for 146 yards. Running back Carson Hansen added two touchdowns on the ground for the Cyclones. Iowa State's defense also held up its end of the bargain, intercepting Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita twice and holding the Wildcats to just two touchdowns.

Iowa State is now set to play two road games in a row, starting with Cincinnati on Oct. 4. After that, the Cyclones will travel to take on Colorado.

The new Associated Press Poll will be released later Sunday.
