Region 2

Mountain Ridge 35, Bingham 6

Mountain Ridge (7-2) secured its first-ever victory against Bingham (3-6) in a decisive 35-6 win in a Region 2 matchup. The Sentinels started strong with a 76-yard touchdown pass from Jaxon Hunt to Tytan DeJong early in the first quarter. Hunt, instrumental throughout the game, threw for three touchdowns, including a 98-yard strike to Kohen Cunningham in the third quarter. Despite a single scoring drive by Bingham’s Cole McKinney on a 2-yard run, Mountain Ridge’s defense held the Miners scoreless in three quarters. Ashton Gates sealed the win with a 64-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, capping off a dominant performance by the Sentinels.

Westlake 56, Cedar Valley 41

Westlake (7-2) secured a decisive 56-41 win over Cedar Valley (1-7) in a Region 2 matchup. Herriman’s Filisi Filipe spearheaded the Mustangs’ offense with three touchdowns, including a pair of explosive runs in the first and fourth quarters. Quarterback Bryson Sweeney facilitated the attack, connecting with Tate Love on an 80-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter to break the game open. Copper Hills managed their only score with Skyler Thomas’ 6-yard run midway through the second quarter. The Bulldogs’ defense was equally effective, with Griffin DeMartini and Julius Pan both returning interceptions for touchdowns. Highland 24, Skyline 7

Highland (4-3) cruised to a comfortable 24-7 victory over Skyline (6-2) in a Region 10 showdown. The Rams surged ahead with a 14-point second quarter, highlighted by William Bauman’s electrifying 44-yard touchdown run with 1:33 left. Bauman also threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Mouhamadu Thiam in the third, extending Highland’s lead to 21-0. Skyline cut into the deficit when Xavier Cocci connected with Sione Tupua on a 34-yard touchdown pass with 6:13 left in the third quarter, but the Eagles couldn’t muster any more offense. Willem Miles capped the Highland scoring with a 26-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

3A South

Cedar City 41, Juab 35

Cedar City (8-0) remained unbeaten with a thrilling 41-35 victory over Juab (7-1) in a 3A South game. Cedar City rallied from a 21-7 halftime deficit with a dynamic third quarter, scoring three touchdowns, including a 14-yard pass from Everett Kelling to Dylan Crowley. Kelling had a standout performance, rushing for a pair of one-yard touchdowns and throwing a scoring pass. Juab’s Brock Richards had a strong game with three rushing touchdowns, including a late 2-yard score in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to reclaim the lead. Cedar City’s Braxton DeMille clinched the victory with a decisive 3-yard run with 5:27 left in the game.

Manti 42, Carbon 21

Manti (6-3) built an insurmountable 42-0 halftime lead as they rolled to a 42-21 victory over Carbon (2-7) in a 3A South game. Tala Taulapapa powered the Templars with three rushing touchdowns, including a 47-yard dash in the first quarter. Quarterback Carter Mason also contributed, throwing an 80-yard touchdown pass to Stone Mortensen and a 30-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Wright in the first half. Carbon staged a late effort in the fourth quarter with Dawson Johnson’s 53-yard run but couldn’t overcome Manti’s early dominance. Manti’s defense kept the Dinos scoreless until the third quarter, anchoring a commanding performance.

Canyon View 31, Richfield 14

Canyon View (5-4) surged past Richfield (5-4) in a 3A South game, recording a dominant 31-14 victory. The Falcons capitalized on a 17-point fourth quarter, beginning with a Jaxon Beckstrom 28-yard field goal at 11:57. Ryder Miller’s precision was on display with an impactful 48-yard touchdown pass to Caden Greenland at 8:49 in the fourth quarter, extending their lead. Asher Ishihara also contributed with a 6-yard reception for a score from Miller just before halftime. Richfield’s Colton White managed two rushing touchdowns, but the Wildcats couldn’t match Canyon View’s late offensive push.

2A North

Layton Christian 76, American Leadership 12

Layton Christian (7-2) dominated American Leadership (3-6) in a lopsided 76-12 victory during a 2A North game. Layton Christian exploded in the first half, piling up a 69-12 lead by halftime. American Leadership struggled to contain the relentless offensive assault from Layton Christian, which showed no signs of slowing down. The visitor’s defense effectively shut down American Leadership’s efforts, limiting them to just 12 points throughout the game. Layton Christian’s comprehensive performance marked a decisive win as they continue their march through the season.

Summit Academy 70, Providence Hall 8

Summit Academy (5-4) dominated Providence Hall (2-7) in a 2A North game, securing a 70-8 victory with a relentless offensive display. The Bears surged with a commanding 35-point second quarter, highlighted by Beau Edmunds’ two touchdown receptions from Preston Mackowiak and a touchdown run by Brayden Dieters. Beckham Meredith was instrumental, scoring on a 95-yard kick return and two touchdown receptions. In the third quarter, Summit Academy’s momentum continued with touchdowns by Jack Troester and a pass from Kreyton Anderson to Beckham Meredith. Providence Hall managed to get on the board with their sole touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but Summit Academy sealed the game with Isaac Barrett’s 13-yard run.

2A South

Delta 42, Grand 6

Delta (1-6) dominated Grand (0-8) with a decisive 42-6 win in a 2A South matchup. Jett Rawlinson spearheaded the Rabbits’ offensive surge, scoring three rushing touchdowns all in the first quarter, including a 36-yard dash early in the period. Ian Bryan further extended the lead with a 5-yard interception return, emphasizing Delta’s defensive strength. Beto Carroll put Grand on the board with a 45-yard touchdown reception from Justin Kimmerle midway through the third quarter, but it was too little, too late. Delta’s defense kept Grand largely in check, allowing just one score throughout the game.

1A North

Gunnison Valley 21, North Sevier 0

Gunnison Valley (3-5) secured a decisive 21-0 victory over North Sevier (1-8) in 1A North play, extending their lead in the rivalry series to 19-16. The Bulldogs’ defense dominated throughout, holding the Wolves scoreless. Talan Dyreng connected with Chase Maples for a 12-yard touchdown pass just before halftime to put Gunnison Valley on the board. Bronson Allen added to the lead with a 7-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Ryder Coates capped the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run with under a minute left in the game.

North Summit 28, Millard 27

North Summit (5-4) edged Millard (4-5) in a 28-27 thriller in their 1A North matchup on Friday. Millard’s Connor Stevens scored a crucial 2-yard touchdown run with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter to bring the Eagles within one point. However, the potential game-tying extra point was missed, sealing the victory for North Summit. Earlier, the Braves built a solid lead in the second quarter with 20 points, highlighted by Cru Richins’ electrifying 80-yard touchdown run. North Summit held on during a scoreless third quarter and a late rally from Millard to secure the victory.

1A South

Enterprise 31, Parowan 7

Enterprise (4-5) secured a decisive 31-7 victory over Parowan (3-6) in a 1A South matchup. The Wolves started strong with Jake Christensen’s 4-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and never looked back. Brannoc Davidson added to the lead with a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the second period, helping Enterprise to a 13-0 halftime advantage. Parowan’s sole highlight came from Tyrel Vest’s impressive 69-yard scoring run in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to 13-7. However, Enterprise dominated the final period with Christensen’s 25-yard dash and a 7-yard touchdown pass from Jack Moyle to Davidson, cementing the win.

Nonregion

South Sevier 30, Rich 14

South Sevier (9-0) achieved a school record for consecutive wins with 9 by defeating Rich (6-3) with a final score of 30-14 in a nonregion matchup. South Sevier quarterback Bridger Bradshaw connected with Cooper Castle for three touchdown passes in the first half, including strikes of 32, 34, and 20 yards. Despite a second-quarter rally by Rich, which included an 8-yard touchdown pass from Jett Holmes to Aiden Weston and a 1-yard Karter Groll run, South Sevier led 24-14 at halftime. The Rams secured the win with a late 11-yard touchdown run by Hudson Flinders, solidifying their unbeaten record. Strong defensive efforts in the second half kept Rich scoreless, allowing South Sevier to maintain their lead.

Beaver 20, North Sanpete 16

Beaver (6-2) secured a narrow 20-16 victory over North Sanpete (5-3) in their first meeting since 1990. Bridger Blackner’s 3-yard touchdown run with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winner. Blackner was a key player for Beaver, also contributing with a 57-yard touchdown pass from Davin Orton in the first quarter. North Sanpete’s Rafael Contreras was effective with his kicking, hitting field goals from 30, 52, and 35 yards. Maddox Madsen added a 5-yard touchdown run for the Hawks, which briefly gave them the lead in the second quarter. Hayden Gubler was instrumental for the Cowboys, scoring three touchdowns, including a 20-yard run in overtime. The Cowboys held firm on defense as they sealed the win with a key interception, preventing the Eagles from responding in overtime. Duchesne’s Wyatt Christensen kept the Eagles competitive with two touchdowns in the second quarter, contributing to a 21-point outburst that tied the game at halftime. Kanab’s Degan Swapp also added two touchdowns, one via a pass and another on the ground, helping maintain their grip on the closely contested match.
