Girls hockey shuts out Williston Saturday

Dec. 20—JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown High School girls hockey team closed out the 2025 portion of their season on a high note.

Head coach Andy Fitzgerald led the Jays to their second win in two days on Saturday, defeating Williston 4-0. The Blue Jays also topped Minot United on Friday evening. Jamestown's record now stands at 2-4-1 overall.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Jan. 2 at Bismarck Legacy/Bismarck High. The puck is slated to drop at 5 p.m.

Williston proved able to hold off Jamestown's scoring early on.

The Coyotes held the Blue Jays to just six shots in the opening period, none of which got past goalie Jovie Mahar. Williston in turn put 10 shots on goal in the first period.

The trouble for the Coyotes started when Izzy Maddock got loose early in the second period. Maddock landed a shot off an assist from Stella Belzer to give the home team a 1-0 advantage.

Belzer added another assist to her season total 10 seconds after Maddock's goal.

The Blue Jay sophomore made a pass to Maci Fisher that resulted in another Blue Jay goal at the 4:08 mark of the second period.

Grace Allmaras and Maddy Roaldson put the game to bed with two more goals scored in the third period. Jamestown produced 13 shots on goal in the final period.

Blue Jay goalie Ady Bakalar made 18 saves for the Jays.

Finn Moser picked up wins in the 200 and 500 yard freestyles while Kaden Fabian notched a first-place finish in the 50 free. The Blue Jays also won the 200 freestyle relay. The relay was swum by Gavin Klocke, Zach Hanson, Fabian and Moser.

Jamestown's next competition on the schedule is slated for Jan. 8 at Minot North. The dual will begin at 5 p.m.
