The Tampa Bay Buccaneers bounced back from their loss last week to win at the death over the Seattle Seahawks 38-35 at Lumen Field...and yeah, Emeka Egbuka was at the heart of it.
The rookie, who has been nothing but superb through the opening month, hauled in seven receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown (takes his tally to five) as Baker Mayfield and Co. again got rolling when the pressure was at its highest.
For Egbuka, born in Tacoma, Washington, it was his return to his home state, and boy, he made it count, constantly torching the Seattle defense time and time again.
And his coach, Todd Bowles, was pleased with the rookie's output.
“Emeka had a homecoming today,” Bowles said. “He continues to amaze and compete and do the things that everybody seeing him do like he did in college, and again he was outstanding.”

Egbuka off to blistering start with Mayfield
It is now back-to-back 100-yard games for Egbuka as he takes his season tally to 25 receptions for 445 yards and five touchdowns to easily lead the Buccaneers in all categories through five weeks.
Some thought the Buccaneers would go defense in the draft, but Bowles and general manager Jason Licht opted for Emeka, and their selection has already been justified with the former Ohio State standout tearing apart the league.
His connection with Mayfield has been boosted without Evans and Godwin in a reduced role coming back from injury, and we are seeing the fruits of that, as No. 2 is quickly becoming the weapon defenses have to stop.
And if they don't, well, just look at Emeka against Seattle.
