The Tennessee Titans have widely received positive reviews for the haul they gathered during the 2025 NFL draft. Players Cam Ward, Kevin Winston Jr., Jackson Slater, and Elic Ayomanor have all been pointed out as tremendous value picks and named favorites by some analysts.
All nine of their picks come to Nashville with a chance to compete and lay the foundation for future success. While some of those draft selections garnered accolades, others were met with a lukewarm response and at the time raised a few eyebrows.
Josh Edwards of CBS Sports decided to breakdown every NFL team and point out the picks he believes to be questionable in this class. For the Titans, he zeroed in on one of their new playmakers.
Titans: WR Chimere Dike, Florida (Round 4, pick 103)
Tennessee used free agency to upgrade the offensive line, which meant that the draft was necessary to fill some needs among the skill-position groups. Dike offers value as a returner, but where had his production been until this past season? His 7.2% career drop rate, according to TruMedia, is above the generally acceptable average.
If someone had told me the draft position of Stanford's Elic Ayomanor (No. 136 overall) and Dike were switched, that would have made more sense.
His last point is valid. Ayomanor was widely ranked higher on most draft boards heading into the weekend, and the Titans' landing him after Dike is a boon. Dike may be more explosive and offer a more dynamic skill set than Ayomolar, but selecting him before the more established Stanford receiver was a bit of a risk.
Regardless of the order taken, the Titans landed them both and added two talented players to their receiver room, making it a positive move, even if some analysts view it as questionable. Plus, once the players hit the field, it doesn’t matter where they were selected; it is their performance that counts.
