CC Sabathia celebrates the Milwaukee Brewers playoff series victory over the Cubs

Milwaukee Brewers fans near and far were celebrating the satisfying playoff series win over the Chicago Cubs on Oct. 11 at American Family Field.
That included past franchise legends like CC Sabathia, who was part of a special Brewers team that ended a 26-year postseason drought in 2008.
The 2025 team just ended a drought of its own: a streak of six straight potseason series losses dating back seven years. Sabathia, a recent inductee into the Hall of Fame, is happy for the franchise and community.
Sabathia tweeted after the Brewers' 3-1 win in the National League Division Series: "Congrats to the Brewers and all the fans!! The city deserved that"

Meanwhile, die-hard Brewers supporter Sam Dekker, a former Wisconsin basketball star, recalled a quote from the late Kobe Bryant with a GIF on X.
It was of Bryant proclaiming: "Job finished? I don't think so."
Bryant famously made that comment during a press conference after his Los Angeles Lakers went up 2-0 in the 2009 NBA Finals over the Orlando Magic. A reporter had asked why he wasn't smiling with his team leading the series.
The Lakers would go on to win that series, 4-1.

Dekker is right.
While the Brewers got the monkey off their backs in winning a playoff series, this team has bigger goals: a World Series.
Next in getting closer to that goal is the National League Championship Series and a date with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The winner advances to the World Series.
