Broncos notes: DL cut from IR with settlement; LB could return soon

The Denver Broncos reached an injury settlement with rookie defensive lineman Kristian Williams and cut him from injured reserve, according to the NFL's transaction wire.

The Broncos originally waived Williams with an injury designation when they set their 53-man roster in August, and he reverted to the team's injured reserve list after clearing waivers. Williams (6-2, 295 pounds), an undrafted rookie out of Missouri, will now be eligible to join another club.

Broncos injury update: We're still waiting for an update on Denver tight end Evan Engram (calf), but coach Sean Payton hinted during his Monday conference call with reporters that linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) could return to action soon after sitting out Week 1. "[Y]ou’re going to see him sooner than later," Payton said. The Broncos' first practice of the week is scheduled for Wednesday.
