See who won't play for Oregon football against Northwestern

The Ducks won't have their starting quarterback for the rest of the season, but they will be closer to full strength at wide receiver this weekend.

Evan Stewart, Messiah Hampton and Jalen Lott weren't listed on the availability report released Oct. 28 by the Big Ten for Oregon's 12:30 p.m. game Saturday against No. 18 Northwestern at Autzen Stadium.

All three receivers missed last week's loss to Illinois for undisclosed reasons. It was the second-straight absence from the lineup for Stewart, who had been the Ducks' leading receiver before sitting out.

There were no surprises Wednesday. The seven players listed as out for Saturday's game were previously announced as injured.

That includes quarterback Dante Moore, whose concussion against USC on Sept. 26 appears to be season-ending as coach Dan Lanning said Monday that he didn't anticipate Moore's return in 2026.

The others listed as out were receiver Jeremiah McClellan (foot), safety Aaron Flowers (shoulder), offensive linemen Trent Ferguson (knee) and Dave Iuli (undisclosed), linebacker Brayden Platt (undisclosed) and defensive lineman Matt Johnson (undisclosed).

Freshman reserve offensive lineman Immanuel Iheanacho, who was listed as out against Illinois, is now listed as questionable.

"Manny is back practicing with us," Lanning said Wednesday. "We feel like we could have him back by the end of this week."

Oregon football availability report ahead of Northwestern game

  • Tony Cumberland – The four-star freshman defensive tackle from Eugene's Willamette High School was injured in an offseason car accident and remains out. "It's a work in progress with him," Oregon defensive line coach Tony Tuioti said Aug. 17. "I don't think it's going to be anything that we'll be able to see him soon. But he's made so much progress. I think the thing that's most important is that we have him with us and just having him in the room brings a smile to all our faces."
  • Trent Ferguson – The junior left guard is out for the season with a knee injury suffered against Oklahoma State Sept. 12 during his first career start.
  • Aaron Flowers – The starting safety is out for "the foreseeable future" after having surgery on his shoulder, Lanning said Oct. 14. He left the game against USC on Sept. 26 and hasn't played since.
  • Dillon Gresham – The junior wide receiver isn't expected to play any time soon, if ever again, after a season-ending neck injury in August 2025. While still on the roster, Lanning has said Gresham's football future remains in doubt. "There's not really a clear indication that Dillon's going to be able to help us here in the future," Lanning said Aug. 6. "He'll be a part of our team. But from a medical standpoint, I don't know if that's clear that he'd be able to."

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning, left, talks with Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart before the game as the Oregon Ducks host the UCLA Bruins on Oct. 10, 2026, at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.

  • Immanuel Iheanacho – The five-star freshman reserve offensive lineman missed the Illinois game with an undisclosed injury but was listed as questionable Wednesday.
  • Dave Iuli – The veteran right guard who made four starts this season didn't play the last two games due to an undisclosed injury. He has now undergone surgery that will keep him sidelined indefinitely, Lanning announced Wednesday.
  • Matthew Johnson – The reserve defensive tackle and primary backup to A'Mauri Washington and Bear Alexander, didn't play against Illinois due to an undisclosed injury and has undergone surgery that will keep him sidelined indefinitely, Lanning said Wednesday.
  • Jeremiah McClellan – The starting wide receiver broke his foot during pregame warmups against Portland State Sept. 18 and is out indefinitely.
  • Dante Moore – The starting quarterback is not expected to play again this season after suffering a concussion against USC on Sept. 26.
  • Brayden Platt – Lanning announced after the first week of fall camp that the junior inside linebacker was going to miss time with an undisclosed injury and wouldn't put a timetable on his return.
