According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Arsenal have been keeping an eye on Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha. With two years left on the winger’s contract and a genuine interest from the Premier League champions, the speculation about this matter has risen over the past few months, but Liverpool have no intention of selling. Further more, they’re expected to start working on a new, presumably longer and more lucrative contract for Ngumoha.
Ngumoha was previously linked with Bayern Munich, whose acquisition of Luis Diaz from Liverpool has proven a great piece of business by the Bundesliga champions. But whether it’s Bayern or Arsenal knocking on the door for Ngumoha, for the time being, Liverpool have no intention of opening it.
Andoni Iraola, who took charge at Liverpool this summer after a very successful spell with Bournemouth, is a coach for whom wingers are very important, and he sees Ngumoha as a big part of the team for the foreseeable future.
