Indiana had its way with North Texas on Saturday, but not before quarterback Josh Hoover had a bloody nose scare. \n\n
During the second quarter of the game, North Texas brought pressure, resulting in a defender grabbing Hoover’s facemask and turning his helmet fully backward. Hoover immediately started bleeding, and the blood kept dripping from his nose. \n\n
The defender was penalized 15 yards for a facemask penalty. \n\n

Hoover stayed in the game and threw a touchdown pass to Charlie Becker to cap off the drive. Becker’s touchdown extended Indiana’s lead to 21-3 before the program went on to win 52-16. \n\n

After the game, Hoover went into detail about the facemask, saying it looked “way worse than it felt.”\n\n
“It looked way worse than it felt,” Hoover said. “I didn’t even know it was bleeding like that, but no, I feel good.”\n\n
He also confirmed that he felt the blood and that he was alright. \n\n
Hoover finished the game with 231 yards through the air and four touchdowns. It was his first start with the Hoosiers after previously playing for TCU. \n\n
Indiana will continue its non-conference schedule next Saturday against Howard, then play its third and final non-conference game on Sept. 19 against Western Kentucky. \n\n
